Lengthy Boot-up

If you take more than 5 minutes or longer to boot up your, it is time that you try out the below recommended method to accelerte the boot-up process.

The long boot-up time is more likely due to too many start-up applications. The start-up applications are probably spyware, viruses or malicious software. The quick way to see if this is the problem is to turn off all the start-up applications using MSCONFIG.

Open MSCONFIG by pressing the Windows key plus R to activate the RUN command. In the input box, type MSCONFIG and select OK. When MSCONFIG opens, select "Diagnostic startup", then "Apply" and restart your system.

If your system restarts faster than before, you have identified the problem. The greater effort is now identifying and approving the auto-start applications individually. This is not for the faint-hearted and you may wish to seek professional help.

Lastly, you should ensure your system has an up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware application to perform a full system scan.
